Game synopsis:
You are Discbattler amd your mission is to make it through 100 levels, filled with baddies, treasures and traps. There are hazards to avoid, enemies to blast and funtimes all around.
Your weapon of choice is your Discus; Once you throw it, your Discus will keep bouncing at higher and higher speed (to a managable limit), all the while slowly destroying nearly anything in its path, hopefully enemies included. It will keep bouncing until you manage to capture it (by pressing the button). Every time you press the button, your Discus will change direction and start heading back towards you, allowing you to semi-control your Discus at any time.
Gather treasure to get your score as high as possible, as for every second it goes down; Earn points by defeating enemies and blasting walls. But watch out - certain enemies and hazards will also drain your points, so if you're not careful, you just might end up losing more than you bargained for.
Enemies are usually behind an obstruction, or wall of some kind, but exploding barrels and enemies will also destroy the walls, not to mention the wall-removing hazard that may be one of the hazards that spawn upon level-change.
The game is tightly focused, covering a single-screen at the time, with enemies, obstacles and treasures all hand-placed and with as much eye for attention and detail as possible, in terms of layout.
You gain extra life at 10,000 points
You gain a second Disucs at 75,000 points
You gain a third Discus at 150,000 points
The second and third Discus will dissappear once you go below the points required to acquire them
The currently available enemy-types are:
Basic Enemy: Moves around the screen, constantly trying to avoid the player, while subsequentually shooting at him. Are able to shoot through crates.
Bomber: This enemy will chase down the player and explode three seconds after encounting him. Will also explode if hit by the Discus or and enemy-bullet. Very volatile, be careful. Will blow up walls, pillars and everything else.
Chaser: This one will chase down the player, slow him down and drain his points. Be sure to get rid of these as quickly as possible.
Shooter: The Shooter will stand still and fire, only when the player is within a certain range.
Besides this, there are currently three types of hazards:
Lava: Lava will start covering the level, killing the player upon touch.
Ooze: Ooze will start covering the level, draining the player's point upon touch.
Wall removal: Wall -pieces will start dissappearing.
There are also a few traps, namely:
Fire trap: A fire-trap that moves about the map at random
Spike-trap: A spike-trap that is impossible for the player (or enemies) to cross.
Falling spikes: Spikes falling from the ceiling, killing the player upn encounter.
The maps are on a 40x30 grid, consisting of 16x16 pixels, it is free-movement in all directions, real-time and fast-paced arcade action, with a high-score list that will save the 10 best players.
